The Wax Palm Forest is the most famous section of the valley. Here, Quindío wax palms grow up to 60 meters (200 feet) tall across green pastures.
You can reach this area via a shorter 4.2-kilometer (2.6-mile) out-and-back hike or the full loop trail. Bring cash for entry fees to the private properties you cross.
